Audiovisual Source Code with Bob Pop

The Audiovisual Source Code is a hybrid format between a conference and a screening, in which a curator is invited to select and comment on fragments of immersive audiovisual works that have marked their culture and their way of understanding the world.

Show

Because memories are fragments of a living archive that we are constantly producing and reinterpreting. The CFA has been a hallmark of the festival since the first edition that we want to continue maintaining. This edition will be presented by Bob Pop and will be titled “They Were Right.”

Participants

Bob Pop

Supermarket cashier, cultural penpusher, director of a multinational company, blogger, television critic, television and theatre director, screenwriter, actor, voyeur, intellectual star and, at some point, fake freelancer. But until Belén Gopegui called him author he didn’t believe it. Since then he has published a novel, “Mansos” (Caballo de Troya 2010 and Alfaguara 2021), two diaries, “Días Ajenos” (Somos Libros, 2017) and “Días Simétricos” (Alfaguara 2023) and three essays “Cuando haces Bob” (Temas de Hoy, 2014), “Un miércoles de Enero” (Turner, 2018) and “Como las grecas” (Debate 2024). A few years ago he co-directed “Late Motiv” by Andreu Buenafuente, and participated in “El Objetivo” by Ana Pastor. Tamén created and co-directed the HBO series “Maricón Perdido” which won the Ondas Award for Best Comedy 2021 and the GLAAD Award 2021 for the best series in Spanish. Currently he collaborates on “Hoy por Hoy” by Angels Barceló on Cadena SER, and on “59 Segundos” with Gemma Nierga on TVE, he is deputy director on “La Marea” and is happily banned in “El Hormiguero” by Pablo Motos. He debuted as a theater author with his monologue “Los días ajenos de Bob Pop”, was awarded in the first edition of the Premios Talía and toured theaters in Spain since pre-pandemic until post-pandemic times. Apparently he likes theater because he premiered another play in 2024: “Talking doesn’t work. You’re welcome”.
