Awards

With Lorena Iglesias

This year’s awards ceremony will be hosted by Lorena Iglesias, a friend of the festival. In the 2020 online edition, she dared to perform her show Necroshow entirely online but live, and also participated in the panel “Funny Aunties: A Review of the Barricades of Female Comedy.” She returned in 2021 as a jury member and to finally perform a live, ad hoc show called “Pochosfera: Painful Moments of the Internet”. And now she’s back to present “Millennial Mal”, the series she created. Incidentally, we’ve already seen her present the festival’s awards.

LORENA IGLESIAS

In 2020, she was selected for the Spanish Film Academy’s residency program with her series “Millennial Mal,” which boosted her career as a screenwriter. The series, soon to premiere on Filmin, had its world premiere at the last Málaga Film Festival, where critics like Matías G. Rebolledo of Kinótico described it as “a masterpiece of discomfort,” highlighting its generational humor and its incisive look at precarity and intergenerational relationships.

In the realm of comedy, Lorena is known for her “Necroshow”, a show she has been performing since 2019, addressing job insecurity, feminism, and politics with a critical and humorous perspective. Her career continues to expand across different media, always maintaining an innovative and socially conscious approach.
