Carballo Interplay, the digital content festival, has released the first preview of its 12th edition, which will take place from April 24th to 27th at the Carballo Market. During those days, Carballo will become the center of the digital universe, bringing together leading shows and personalities from the world of podcasting, communication and comedy. The entire program will be completely free, although some events will require seat reservation, which will be announced soon.
The duo formed by Facu Díaz and Miguel Maldonado will take over the festival’s regular section, “Rajando con…” (Rajando con…) on Friday night, with their authentic blend of political satire, humor, and improvisation. Known for programs such as “No te metas en política”, they are currently touring with the show “Quieto todo el mundo”, which has sold out in cities such as Seville, Granada, and Valencia, marking their 10 years of working together. Maldonado, for his part, has just received the Ondas Award for Best Video Podcast for Sastre y Maldonado, which he presents with José Luis Sastre.
Another of Carballo Interplay’s regular shows is the CFA (Código Fonte Audiovisual), which this time will be presented by writer and screenwriter Bob Pop. On Saturday afternoon, the creator of the series Maricón Perdido will review, in this hybrid format between a lecture and a screening, his selection of excerpts from audiovisual works that have shaped his culture and his way of understanding the world.
Also on Saturday, Ángela Henche and Albanta San Román, hosts of the podcast Keep it Cutre, will appear at the Carballo Market. This show, born from their everyday conversations, brings a great deal of humor to topics that reflect the feelings of the millennial generation. Guests such as Nerea Pérez de las Heras, Beatriz Serrano, and comedian Lalachus have appeared on the podcast. They recently began performing live shows and, for the first time, are coming to Galicia with a show that will leave no one indifferent.
The housing crisis is one of the major topics on the daily agenda and will also be featured in the new edition of Carballo Interplay, led by comedian Ana Polo. In her show Aquí no hay quien viva, Polo will follow the format of El Precio Justo to talk with the audience about current housing prices in Galicia. This is a way of using humor to turn this social issue on its head and involve the audience in a show where there can only be one winner: whoever guesses the most abusive price in the region.
Over the coming weeks, Carballo Interplay will reveal more details about its programming, which will feature a large presence of digital creators from Galicia, spaces for reflection on online trends from a feminist and anti-racist perspective, and the Official Series Competition, with a selection of works from around the world.
