Surviving in Galician on social media
Creating Galician content for social media: a conscious decision or an act of faith? In this conversation, Prado Rúa and Konachadas discuss algorithms, hate, opportunities, and why, despite everything, they continue to complain about viral content. An hour to display what little shame they have left and share a bit of gossip.

Radically online – Activism in social networks
This creative activism workshop is an accelerator of activist projects, conducted by Marina García Canedo, creator and strategist at teta&teta and a reference in political communication and digital culture.
We will analyze how culture, media, and political discourse operate today in the age of endless scrolling, identifying when purposeful communication generates transformation and when it’s merely window dressing, greenwashing, pinkwashing, or performative activism.
We will explore how to design strategies that produce real conversation and movement, not just reach or content to whatever trend is on. This workshop invites us to become agents of change, capable of reading, thinking, and activating social issues beyond the aesthetics of purpose.
Because a world limited to selling products is, besides being worse, much more boring.

Clara Corbelhe magazine #5: Dixital sovereignty versus or algorithmic power
In this edition of the Carballo Interplay we will have a conversation around the article “Scroll, language, nation: political Galicianness on the networks in the TikTok era”, by Malva F. R., in issue 5 of the Clara Corbelhe magazine, in which we will be accompanied by both Malva and Élia Lago, in charge of this edition of the magazine.
The Clara Corbelhe Institute is a meeting place between academia and citizens for the strengthening of Galician critical studies with several lines of publication and activity. And also, in this fifth issue of the magazine, you will see that old friends of the festival have also written, such as the teacher and researcher Cibrán Tenreiro or Proyecto Una.

This is not science fiction: AI and work in digital media
It’s impossible to talk about the digital world in 2026 without mentioning artificial intelligence. What seemed like science fiction just a few years ago is now part of everyday life for anyone with internet access. These new tools and language models, such as Claude, ChatGPT, GeminAI, Grok, and Midjourney, have as many supporters as detractors.
On the one hand, their ability to generate text and images makes life easier for many people; on the other, their environmental impact is unacceptable, and their effect on the human psyche is still being studied. In this first activity of the PRO Zone, we will analyze their impact with the help of Maldita.es, a non-profit foundation and media outlet specializing in fact-checking and debunking misinformation.

Sex and the city
Nostalgia is key in these turbulent times, and many online have chosen to find refuge in their favorite TV series. This is the case for Raquel Piñeiro, journalist and author of the book “A Country on Screen: Spain Through Film and TV Series,” and her friend Patricia Blanco, a teacher. These two women from Pontevedra decided to start a podcast in which they would analyze, episode by episode, the series Sex and the City. In this edition of Carballo Interplay, they will offer us a special live program (something never before seen in Galicia!) talking about the adventures of Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda “with unexpected references to Pontevedra.”

Podcasts in Spain: a golden age or the reign of conversation?
At Carballo Interplay we’ve been discussing the podcasting sector for years, analyzing its trends and inviting creators to speak. This time, we want to better understand where we stand. It seems unbelievable to talk about a crisis when there are almost more podcasts than people, but… what kind of podcasts are being produced today? In the age of conversation, often featuring celebrities, there are fewer and fewer investigative, analytical, or even narrative projects. Great creations like “The Great Blackout” are a thing of the past; we’re in an era where all podcasts sound similar, and the industry rarely invests in in-depth work and creativity. Is this true, or is it just a social perception because they go viral less?

New voices: this is no longer just about telling stories
New media face a clear challenge: carving out a niche in an ever-expanding landscape, battling algorithms that don’t always make it easy.
Since Carballo Interplay is committed to championing new voices, we will be showcasing four projects, both Galician and national, that aim to bring fresh perspectives, stories, and formats to the contemporary media landscape. The media outlets we will be highlighting are: Trescentostrece, Salseología, Literal247, and Woke up!
Trescentostrece, Salseología, Literal247 and Woke up!
Scroll, scroll, STOP. The new rules of disclosure
It’s becoming increasingly difficult to be heard online. Between the overabundance of platforms, convoluted algorithms, bots, and AI, finding quality content created by people and effectively communicated seems almost impossible. Amidst this chaos, some particularly skilled content creators stand out, managing to convey their areas of expertise with a unique voice.
In this first talk on Saturday, we want to speak with some of them to find out how to achieve widespread awareness in times of attention deficit. They will be Kenya Stéphanie, Helio Roque, Autoenfoque, and Pablo Lluch.

I’LL SEE YOU IN MY DREAMS. TWIN PEAKS
This year, the festival will feature a live discussion between Estela Ortiz and Juan Evaristo Valls Boix, in which they will analyze the series ‘Twin Peaks’.
Estela Ortiz and Juan Evaristo Valls Boix will analyze David Lynch’s iconic magnum opus, which, more than thirty years after its release, continues to captivate television fans. The series seeks to unravel the murder of Laura Palmer, a popular student at Twin Peaks High School, gradually immersing us in a dreamlike and surreal atmosphere where the viewer, guided by investigator Dale Cooper, discovers the dark secrets of the mysterious town.

Pop y Muerte
One of the live podcasts that will be enjoyed at this edition is Pop y Muerte, a project about popular culture now in its fifth season. Kiko Amat (1971) and Benja Villegas (1982) met working on radio shows five years ago and haven’t stopped talking since. Natural-born podcasters, these two sons of the Barcelona suburbs share their passion for subculture, punk rock, unabashed geekiness, and quality clothes.
Those who follow them have heard programs on topics as diverse as homicide, pop music, cults, and soccer. Live, Pop y Muerte unleash their overflowing eloquence and remarkable pop erudition, the fruit of having spent the best years of their lives surrounded by records, comics, films, and books. And drugs. Just kidding.

Little Internet
Although we have always been INTERNET LOVERS, there is an internet that we still don’t like. The darker, more hostile or violent one, which directly affects mental health and participation in networks. And that makes many people abandon the spaces they occupy for their transformation.
Therefore, in this edition, we’ve included a special activity with two professionals and experts in this internet we love so much, who will embark on an audiovisual journey through their relationship with social networks. They will explore, from their own experiences, how we communicate and create, from the earliest online communities, through a more open internet, to what we have today: small escape routes, small doors, or almost intimate and closed spaces for a small group of friends where people connect in today’s digital ecosystem. A small internet.
We are part of an internet that looks to the past to understand itself, that embraces the present to avoid disappearing, and that fearlessly asks about the future. An internet that materializes, once again, in the streets of Carballo, transforming the town into a meeting point for some of the most interesting voices in the current digital landscape.
Ainhoa Marzol and Carmen Pacheco
PLOT TWINS. Duplicated by script
The Audiovisual Source Code is a hybrid format between a conference and a screening, in which a curator is invited to select and comment on fragments of immersive audiovisual works that have marked their culture and their way of understanding the world. Because memories are fragments of a living archive that we are constantly producing and reinterpreting.
The CFA has been a hallmark of the festival since the first edition and we want to continue to maintain it. In this edition we want to invite Lúa and Zeltia Mosquera, two twin sisters (yes, we know that you all think they are twins) who will show us how the representation of twins in audiovisual media has marked their relationship.

Awards
This year’s awards ceremony will be hosted by Lorena Iglesias, a friend of the festival. In the 2020 online edition, she dared to perform her show Necroshow entirely online but live, and also participated in the panel “Funny Aunties: A Review of the Barricades of Female Comedy.” She returned in 2021 as a jury member and to finally perform a live, ad hoc show called “Pochosfera: Painful Moments of the Internet”. And now she’s back to present “Millennial Mal”, the series she created. Incidentally, we’ve already seen her present the festival’s awards.

Keep it Cutre
With thousands of followers on social media, closeness and sincerity are one of the keys to their success. In addition, they have a bombproof humor – and drama-proof. Guests such as Nerea Pérez de las Heras, Beatriz Serrano or the comedian Lalachus have appeared on the podcast. They arrive in Galicia for the first time with a program that is born from their daily conversations with a great dose of laughter touching on topics related to the feelings of the millennial generation.

Abajo el Trabajo con Juana Dolores, Christo Casas and Puto Mikel
The trade of content creation is complicated. The Internet, social networks, the media and cultural spaces are always asking for new products, causing many creators to live with frustration the incongruity of making a speech around criticism of capitalism and hyperproductivity while being their worst bosses. Can you live from creation without self-exploitation? Are our best hours of the day – and of life – occupied by work? To discuss this topic, we have Juana Dolores, Christo Casas and Puto Mikel, three anti-capitalist thinkers and creators, specialists in fields as diverse as journalism, archaeology or dramatic arts with extensive experience on the internet and in cultural spaces.

Communicating in diversity
With an increasingly hostile internet and an increase in the reactionary movement of the far-right, misogynistic and racist, it is more important than ever to communicate in diversity. It is the responsibility of spaces like Carballo Interplay to help disseminate the discourses of creators who seek to defend the rights of all. We want to listen to them and know how to help improve spaces for debate, how to educate in an egalitarian way and correct our prejudices. To do this, we want to have some of the most relevant creators and communicators who currently exist in the fight against racism and gypsyphobia such as Chaimaa Boukharsa, Lucía Mbomío, Voria Stefanovsky and “Guru” Jiménez, with Antonio Grunfeld, from AGARESO, as moderator.
Chaimaa Boukharsa, Voria Stefanovsky, Lucía Mbomío and “Guru” Jiménez. Conducted by Antonio Grunfeld (AGARESO)
Getting to know… Andy Chichester
In this edition we want to claim more than ever the Galician language and the people who decide to use and defend it in their day to day life, and within those people, both paleo-speakers and neo-speakers, we find interesting cases like that of Andy Chichester, an American professor who decided to learn Galician language and started using it on his social networks, winning the affection of the Galician internet community.
His commitment to our culture, despite not having any previous closeness, is one of the topics we want to talk about with Andy, who will travel from New York to Carballo to put his knowledge into practice and reflect on the role of language in our lives. All in a conversation in which he will be accompanied by the actor Federico Pérez.
Andy Chichester, Federico Pérez
O Videoxogo en Galicia
In this Interplay edition Lucas Costas, one of the members of MUVI, will claim the video game as a means of communication, expression and creation, as well as an educational tool in the broadest sense of the word, in a panel in which he will also review its history in our community, focusing on The Wall, the first commercial video game in Galicia.

Addicted to True Crime
There is no arguing, we love a good mystery and we are fascinated by understanding human evil. The world of true crime is experiencing one of its best moments, driven by the success of the now classic Catalan “Crims”. We want to talk about the format, the style, the setting, the ethical conflicts, with the help of two Galician projects awarded by the Radar Podcast Spotify initiative, “Sofá manta y crimen” and “La crónica oscura”. We will also have the participation of the Spotify Podcast team to analyze this phenomenon at an industry level.

ZONA PRO. Podcast. “Nin que fósemos O Faiadshhhh…”
Carballo Interplay plays a vital role at the Galician level when it comes to supporting and promoting new creators. An example of this is the podcast O Faiado, a project created in 2023 by students of journalism and audiovisual communication, to comment on current events about Galician and international pop culture, as well as comment on trends, reflect and, above all, have a good laugh.
This podcast was the winner of the pitching for the best digital project in Galician (in the channel category) of the last edition of Interplay, and now it returns to the festival, already consolidated, to do a live show where everyone can enjoy the avant-garde of podcasting in Galician. Creators such as Bruno Arias, Rodri Míguez, Sara Seco, Lara Caeiro, Leti da Taberna, Eris Mackenzie, Su Garrido Pombo, The Rapants, Sabela Ramil… This time it will be the turn of director Javier Ferreiro and actress Blanca Martínez, from the series “Mariliendre”.

The tweet, the olive tree, and the roots. The impact of Real Club Celta de Vigo’s communication on the sentiment of Galician society
In 2021, the Radio Vigo Twitter account asked its followers which artist should compose the Celta centenary anthem. The options it gave were four, Iván Ferreiro, Siniestro Total, Carlos Núñez and Eladio, but no one expected that C. Tangana, an internationally renowned artist, would decide to volunteer.

AMIGA, YO TE CUENTO…

Cara a onde camiña o futuro destes eventos?

Digital is political
Generations X and Z want to talk about politics in their homes, with their friends, with their affairs, and, of course, also in the internet. In an increasingly polarized social context, increasing young voices build links and work on alternatives from the digital sphere. Activist, feminist, decolonial and anti-fascist voices from Galicia and other parts of Spain that seek to demonstrate that young people want to make this world better. Questioning what is established to build positively.
